A master's job is
never done, it lives on through the ages.
The Installation of Officer's was held on January 20th and musical selections were rendered by Pvt. T. Restaino, and others, refreshments and dancing rounded out the night and a good time was had by all.
In February the 3 lots owned by the Lodge were going to be sold to the City of Clovis for the price of $2000.00, but the sale fell through. Bro. J. Rahl offered to buy the lots plus donate a $100.00 to the Masonic Homes and it was carried by motion and vote to sell to Bro. Rahl.
The proceeds for the sale of the lots was used to purchase more United States War Bonds to further the war effort. The entire sum was invested in said bonds.
In June a cooler was purchased for the Lodge room and would be installed as quickly as possible. Also there was a request to assist in the starting of a Bethel for Girls which would be called the Clovis Chapter, and the Job's Daughter's Clovis Bethel was born. The cooler was finally installed in July, finally...some relief!!! hehehehe
In November the roof was patched again and the re-roofing was held over until the following summer. Also there was an Honor Roll made for those who served in the war and were members of Clovis Lodge during this time, it is still proudly displayed upstairs in the ante room.
With the war being over and all of our members pouring back into Lodge it was nice to have all things in order once again. Clovis Lodge will long be remembered for the financial backing of both World Wars and for the care their members received while away on duty.
As a further evidence of things returning to normal, one of the main discussions had in the January stated meeting of 1946, was to have the thermostat changed to stay on until the entire room was heated and not just half of it. It was good to be a complete Lodge again!!!
